In a major breakthrough, Rajasthan Police’s Intelligence Wing has arrested a civilian employee posted at the Naval Headquarters in Delhi on charges of leaking classified military information to a Pakistani intelligence handler.

The accused, Vishal Yadav, an Upper Division Clerk (UDC) and a resident of Punsika village in Rewari, Haryana, was apprehended under the provisions of the Official Secrets Act, 1923. The arrest comes after an extensive surveillance operation carried out by the CID Intelligence Rajasthan, which had been closely tracking cross-border espionage links.

Investigations have revealed that Yadav allegedly shared sensitive defence-related information with a Pakistani operative via social media platforms. In return, he reportedly received payments through cryptocurrency channels and direct bank transfers — a tactic increasingly adopted in digital espionage.

Authorities further disclosed that forensic analysis of Yadav’s mobile phone uncovered evidence linking him to previous defence information leaks, including the highly sensitive Operation Sindoor.

The case highlights a growing threat to national security from cyber-enabled espionage and insider threats within defence establishments. Rajasthan Police and central intelligence agencies are now conducting deeper inquiries to determine the full scope of the breach and identify other possible collaborators.

Further details are awaited as investigations continue.
